Charging your NBB Transmitter Battery
NBB Transmitters used by Progressive Turf utilize a 12V/24V DC universal charger. Charging units are supplied with 12VDC car charger adapters (cigarette lighter) for charging on the road, and with standard 100/240V AC / 12VDC power supply blocks for wall charging. Use this charger only in closed, dry rooms.
Display of the charger unit’s operation is done with an LED. The LED signals the state of the charging unit.
Green LED – Steady Light | STANDY MODE. The battery charger is ready for use. Place the battery in the charger to begin the charge cycle. |
Orange LED – Steady Light | CHARGING. The battery will now be charged. |
Orange LED – Quickly Flashing | COMPLETE. The charging process is complete. |
Orange LED – Slowly Flashing | SAFETY MODE. The battery is totally discharged, or the ambient temperature is too low for quick charging. A regeneration or warm-up stage occurs with a reduced current until it proceeds to the standard CHARGING state. |
Notes:
- New batteries have reduced capacity. The battery reaches the maximum energy storage capacity only after at least 5 times charging and discharging completely.
- Discharge the battery completely before charging.
- It is normal that the battery will warm up while charging, or after extended use.
- Charge the battery in an ambient temperature range of 10ºC to 35ºC.
- To avoid deep discharging, batteries should be charged frequently – at least once per month.
- Deep discharging or extreme temperatures damage the battery. Heat in particular will greatly reduce the efficiency. If the temperature range of the battery is too high or low, the charging process will not start to avoid damage and prolong durability of the battery.
- Keep the battery in the charged state in a cool and dry place.
- Do not open, modify, burn the battery. Do not drop the battery or expose it to blocks or knocks. Protect the battery against rain, wetness, and extreme temperatures. Keep the contacts clean, and don’t let the battery touch metal objects. Do not short-circuit the battery. Do not carry in your pockets, or in containers like tool boxes that contain objects that may impact or contact the battery.
